And I will, as soon as I have a handle on making things properly. I'd like to start with the Compass of Evil, that would be more useful now than ever! But that seems like a challenge if even I don't know what it should be picking up exactly, which is also the reason for making it. But even if I could just tune it to undead things, it would still be way better than what we have now. Which for most people is nothing. So yes, that sounds fair.
How do I know if it's really forbidden or if you're just forbidding it out of general meanspiritedness?
You're not allowed to tell me in one breath that I am being fair, and in another breath that I would do something out of meanspiritedness. Not even if your potential invention sounds incredibly cool. You have to pick one or the other. That's the rule.
If you tell me why you really want to know, then maybe I will tell you where it is.
Is that going to be the next rule on your wall? Got a way to go before you catch up to πβ°οΈ.
I don't understand why I'd need to have more of a reason than just being told I'm not allowed to know, due to your great heroism and all. Why would I need an ulterior motive? How can I know if I need to know what's in it or not, if I don't know anything about it?
I can make four thousand easily, but most of them will be silly. You can't possibly get that many and not have silly rules.
I don't know. Are you always this insistent about things that you don't know? ...I guess that can be a reason, though it seems like a very arbitrary one. What do you plan to do once you know where it is?
You tell that to the πβ°οΈ, where I'm pretty sure several of the rules are specifically against the entire concept of silly. Probably the last thousand in particular, I can't imagine what moral stone was left unturned by the first three.
Well if I wasn't, how would I get to know things? I thought you'd understand, Klaudia-laoshi.
I don't "plan." But maybe I would go to it, obviously.
Maybe I *will* tell that to πβ°οΈ. Then I will show them my rule list, which will be far superior because it will have rules that acknowledge that they are silly, instead of being silly for no reason.
Do they throw things at you on πβ°οΈ for being correct? I feel like my life might be in danger if I ever visit. I'm not very good at dodging, but I'm very good at being correct. π°
Fine, I won't go live there. πΏ It's probably for the best, since I don't know how to live in a π³π³π³ anyway. I have a spell that makes π₯, but I will probably get tired of those very quickly.
And yes, everything is π€«! But only at night--like really late at night. The sound came back when the sun came up. It was very disorienting to wake up to nothing. π€«π€«π€«
Would he throw something at you for being correct? π€
I have a π₯ spell because I bought the instructions for a π₯ spell! The Elphame Traders visit the city at the end of each month, and they have a lot of neat magical things. So now I can instantly make full-grown π₯ anywhere there's soil. Isn't that cool?
Musical cultivators... like bards? Are you talking about bards?
Maybe we should both practice our dodging, if we're going to be so unerringly correct at all times~
I'll point them out the next time they're in town! Then you do not need to be envious because you can also be the proud owner of a π₯ spell. Problem solved~
Everyone is just bards apparently. Do you realize how strange that is? We don't have such a high concentration of bards where I'm from. Not unless you go to one of the bard colleges, but those are rare.
If we're leading a class, will we have students? Who is even correct enough to be part of our class?
Bards don't need to talk, I think? They don't just entertain people with poetry and stories. I mean, I guess they *could* and usually do, but that's not the sort of bard I mean.
The sort of bard that I mean is trained in βοΈ and οΈshapes magic with πΌ. It's a very primal sort of magic, not as (over)refined as organized wizardry--but because it's so raw and emotional, it makes them particularly good at enchantments and illusions. Things that affect a person's senses or the mind.
That's a good question, we'd have to have some kind of initial correctness test. Start small, both in terms of the throwing and the correctness.
Well I can see the similarities but musical cultivation isn't more primal than anything else? It just uses music imbued with spiritual power. Good for π»s. If you are just going to fight people or π»s you may as well use βοΈ but if you want to cleanse an area or a person it is probably better to use πΌ. βοΈ is very good for getting a π» out of a person but that's not exorcism, that's murder. I guess you can tell people or π»s what to do with βοΈ though. If you have a sword and tell someone to do something they usually at least strongly consider it. Not me, but most people.
What is small in terms of correctness? Or in terms of throwing? Basic facts and those tiny cushions that people set fancy things on?
Hmm. Bards don't usually fight π»s. I think they *can*, but not usually. That's more the field of priests and clerics, I think. Or paladins, if they're particularly fight-y π»s. But paladins are just clerics with β¨π‘οΈ anyway. Maybe a π, too.
You don't have strong considerations with βοΈ? I think I would consider strongly, but I wouldn't be happy about it. I guess the problem with using βοΈ as incentive with people is that you have to keep using βοΈ, and that pretty much ensures that you can never put it away. Must be tiring. Ultimately leads to those people using βοΈ, too. You would think everyone would get tired of βοΈ eventually.
What *would* make you strongly consider something?
Oh, I was going to suggest that, but I thought you might object. I *could* make fancy pillows for throwing, but small rocks are much easier.
It's not that complicated if you live in it. You just do what you're capable of, and if you're not capable, then you find someone else. Sort of like how things work here, I guess. Except for the π. Anyone can have πs, but only paladins can make them out of magic. β¨π.
Or! I can provide you with excellent incentive into doing something that is also fun. I have a lot of great ideas that deserve strong considerations.
β¨πβββ β¨π... β¨π!!! βοΈ is still more efficient than having a whole separate β¨π but what about style? We didn't consider it.
Well I don't need incentive for that. Usually fun is its own incentive! The fact you think you need incentives makes me suspicious.
Maybe! Who knows, maybe you draw the line at throwing rocks at people. But clearly you do not.
Wait, are you talking about fighting with β¨π??? I think it's still just for getting around, aside from typical π combat. You know, kicking and biting. But I could be wrong! I do not actually know any paladins, and they would probably not like to know me, so we are on mutual footing.
There is no need to be suspicious! It's purely academic interest. Curiosity. Not intended for practical use.

We went around the π₯©π», along the π€«ποΈ. That was safer, but we got ambushed by a bunch of orcs in the middle of the night. They probably wait for travelers there, since everything is π€« and you can't hear them sneak up.
